Custom Order Policy

At MALCOLM JOSEPHAT, we create thoughtfully designed furniture and home products tailored to each customer's needs. Custom orders allow you to select specific dimensions, materials, finishes, fabrics, colors, and design details to create a piece that is uniquely yours.

Because custom products are made specifically according to your selections, additional terms apply to custom orders.

1. Custom Order Process

The custom order process may include:

  2. Selection of materials, finishes, dimensions, and specifications.

  3. Review and approval of final design details.

  4. Payment confirmation or required deposit.

  5. Production of the approved item.

  6. Quality inspection and delivery.

Customers are responsible for carefully reviewing all details before approving a custom order

2. Customer Approval

Before production begins, customers must confirm that all order details are accurate, including:

  • Measurements and dimensions.

  • Materials and finishes.

  • Colors and fabrics.

  • Design features.

  • Quantity and product selections.

  • Delivery information.

Once a design has been approved and production begins, changes may not be possible or may require additional charges and extended production timelines.

3. Deposits and Payments

Custom orders may require a deposit or full payment before production begins.

Payment requirements will be communicated before an order is finalized.

Deposits may be non-refundable once materials have been purchased or production has started due to the personalized nature of custom manufacturing.

4. Production Timelines

Custom products require additional time for design, material sourcing, craftsmanship, finishing, and quality control.

Estimated production timelines are provided at the time of purchase and are not guaranteed delivery dates.

Production timelines may be affected by:

  • Material availability.

  • Design revisions.

  • Customer approval delays.

  • Supplier delays.

  • Shipping conditions.

  • Circumstances beyond our reasonable control.

5. Changes and Modifications

Customers may request changes to a custom order before production begins.

Once production has started, modifications may:

  • Not possible.

  • Require additional fees.

  • Extend the estimated completion date.

Any approved changes must be confirmed in writing before work continues.

6. Custom Product Cancellations

Due to the personalized nature of custom products, cancellation requests are limited.

If a cancellation request is submitted before production begins, we may approve the cancellation at our discretion and retain any costs already incurred, including design fees, purchased materials, processing fees, or other expenses.

Once production begins, custom orders generally cannot be canceled, returned, or refunded unless required by applicable law or covered under our Warranty Policy

7. Natural Materials and Variations

Many of our products may include natural materials such as wood, leather, stone, and textiles.

Customers acknowledge that natural materials may include unique characteristics, including:

  • Grain variations.

  • Color differences.

  • Texture variations.

  • Knots or natural markings.

  • Minor variations between samples and finished products.

These characteristics are considered part of the beauty and uniqueness of handcrafted products and are not considered defects.

8. Measurements and Customer Responsibility

Customers are responsible for providing accurate measurements and ensuring that products will fit within their intended space.

We are not responsible for issues caused by:

  • Incorrect customer measurements.

  • Limited access points.

  • Narrow doorways, hallways, staircases, or elevators.

  • Space limitations at the delivery location.

Customers should confirm all measurements before approving a custom order.

9. Delivery and Installation

Delivery and installation options vary by product and location.

If installation or assembly services are provided, details and fees will be communicated before completion of the order.

Customers are responsible for ensuring the delivery location is prepared and accessible.

10. Warranty Coverage

Custom products are covered under our Warranty Policy for applicable manufacturing defects and workmanship issues.

Custom selections, approved design choices, natural material variations, and customer-provided specifications are not considered defects.
